Foundation's not easy to work with without a brush, so I'd recommend using a tinted moisturiser or a light weight foundation, your fingers will help warm the moisturiser up causing it to blend easier. My personal pick would be Benefit you rebel light its light and is finger friendly, If you have some blemishes to cover use a concealer over the moisturiser then top with a little more moisturiser.
If your makeup collection is small and compact, you only need a couple of must have brushes as far as eyes are concerned, a flat shader brush and a blending brush, For flat shaders a great one to try would be Max Factor eyeshadow brush (£6.00) and for a blending brush i love love love the Revlon contour shadow brush (superdrug claims £2.99 but i paid around £8 for it hmm), it blends shadows seamlessly.
Anyway on to shadows, i'd recommend a simple neutral lid colour, its really impossible to pick one colour but i like Bourjois little round pot shadows they have a soft texture and a good colour range. Apply a little mascara for daytime i would use Rimmel Sexy Curves in black. Eyeliner involves precision and if you're on the go it's not easy to do your eyeliner while you're driving along the road
Use a cream blush such as Maybelline dream mousse blush (around £7) partly because it doesn't require a brush but cream also is more long lasting then powder, Apply on the apples of the cheeks using your fingers then blend up the cheek bones towards the temples.
The final step is lips, I'd choose something simple, a tinted lip balm would be my choice as it smooths chapped lips and adds a little subtle colour and can be applied from the container easily give clinque's superb moisturising gloss (£12) it comes in a range of colours, moisturises the lips and add's some glamour to the lips.
This sounds like alot but will probably only take about 10 minutes and will look fresh and glowy.
Hope you give this a try
